Floating Ping Pong Ball Catch

A hair dryer suspends a ping pong ball mid-air while the kid tries to catch it with chopsticks or tongs. Strange and oddly addictive.

How to do it

  1. 1

Point a hair dryer upward and turn it on a low setting.

  2. 2

Place a ping pong ball on top of the airflow until it floats steadily.

  3. 3

Hand the kid tongs or chopsticks and have them try to grab the floating ball.

Tips & extensions

Lower airflow makes it easier; higher airflow makes it harder. Try a variety of grabbers for fine motor variety.
