How to do it

  1. 1

Draw windows and details on toilet paper rolls to make mini buildings.

  2. 2

Hold a diaper under running water until it is fully saturated and the absorbent polymer gel swells up.

  3. 3

Tear open or squeeze the diaper to release the fluffy, snow-like crystals into a tray.

  4. 4

Stand the cardboard tube buildings in the snow and play freely with the snowy city scene.

Tips & extensions

Use warm water to speed up the gel expansion, and do this activity over a large tray to contain the mess.
