Color Mixing Handprints

Two painted hands clap together to mix primary colors into something new. Messy in the best way.

🧒 Ages 3-5, 6-8⏱ 15 min

How to do it

  1. 1

Draw a plus sign and an equals sign on a sheet of paper.

  2. 2

Paint one hand a primary color and the other hand a different primary color.

  3. 3

Press the painted hands together, then stamp the mixed color onto the paper after the equals sign.

Tips & extensions

Use washable finger paint for easy cleanup. Two kids can also do this together with one hand each.
