Alphabet Ice Excavation Play
Freeze glittery alphabet letters, flowers, and small toys into a large block of ice, then let kids excavate them using tools like spoons, droppers, and baking soda. Kids love the magical surprise of uncovering sparkling letters and creatures hidden in the ice!
How to do it
- 1
Pour water tinted with pink food coloring into a large pan. Add glitter, plastic alphabet letters, small toys, and dried flowers. Freeze overnight until solid.
- 2
Place the ice block in a sensory bin or tray. Provide tools like spoons, droppers, and small cups of baking soda or warm water.
- 3
Let kids excavate the ice by pouring, dripping, and scraping to reveal the hidden letters and toys.
- 4
As letters are freed, place them on a cardboard sheet with the alphabet written on it and match each letter to its spot.
